I’ve lived in Singapore for more than a year now and just recently, I thought of setting up my very own business. Since I have absolutely no idea on how to go about it, I figured I should do some research on Singapore company formation. And because writing about things I’m in the process of learning to reinforce the information in my head, I thought of sharing what I’m learning with you as I go along. Hopefully, it will become useful for you or maybe other people you know. In that way, my research would benefit not only me but many others who are looking to start a company in Singapore. And I would have done at least one good deed for today.
Before I begin sharing with you bits of information that I’m slowly gathering, let me give you a bit of a background about myself. Like I mentioned, I’ve lived here for over a year. I’m originally from the Philippines but as fate would have it, I fell in love with a Singaporean, got married and moved here. My life in Singapore has been great, I’ve met some really great people who actually gave me the idea of starting my very own business here. My Singaporean friends love all my native Filipino accessories and decor. They love it so much that they suggested I put up my very own store and sell these products. I thought, why not? That seems doable and could be a lot of fun. So that’s when I started researching about Singapore company formation. I started asking around if anybody knew how I could go about it, then a friend of mine suggested that I start a BVI company instead. HUH? What is that? Obviously, I’d never heard of it. But, more on that next time. Another friend told me that my life would be made so much easier if I just looked for company formation services and have them do everything for me.
Well, I like learning things on my own so I decided to try to figure things out by myself. Stay tuned for more!
