Ngezi Platinum Mine 132kV Power Supply

Client: Implats
Location: Zimbabwe

Management of the design, construction and commissioning of 75km 132kV monopole overhead line including 132/11kV substation to supply power to the new Ngezi Platinum Mine in Zimbabwe. Initially the line was to be operated at 88kV pending the construction of a new 330/132kV Selous Substation. Once Selous substation was commissioned the supply to Ngezi Mine was to be upgraded to 132kV.

Kibali Gold Mine Hydropower Scheme

Client: Randgold Resources
Location: DRC

In northeast DRC, DRA Global expertly managed the design, construction and commissioning of 22MW Nzorro 2 and 10MW Amboro Hydro Power Stations for Kibali Gold Mine. The two hydro stations feed the Mine via two 66kV overhead lines some 32km and 10km in length respectively. The two stations supplement 36 x 1.5kVA diesel generators to supply the Mine load.

Browns Range Rare Earth Mine Hybrid Power Supply

Location: Western Australia

A Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) was commissioned in 2014 for a greenfields rare earths mine at Browns Range in North Western Australia. Due to a lack of available grid power, our professionals were requested to include mine power supply within the study. The power study incorporated a 12MW hybrid power solution using diesel generators and solar PV without battery back-up.

Uhuru Energy 60MW Biogas Plant

To define the costs to build and operate a 60MW biogas power plant in Ghana, a definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) was conducted. The study was completed and capital requirements are required prior to implementation.
