ABInbev Rosslyn Expansion

Situated in the North West of Pretoria, the expansion of the Rosslyn plant commenced in April 2017 and the main body of work was concluded in March 2018. The project will cost an estimated R1.3 billion.

DRA provided SAB with a fully-fledged team of experts which formed an integrated ‘Owners Team’, which enabled DRA, in conjunction with SAB’s project team members, to effectively manage the project, allowing the project team to make quick decisions to overcome obstacles.

DRA’s involvement includes project management, design integration, construction and safety management services for the following:

  • New malt and rice handling facility
  • New brew house
  • New pack line facilities
  • Bright beer tank cellar expansion
  • Yeast handling plant modifications and additions
  • New beer recovery plant system
  • New ammonia refrigeration plant installation
  • New CO2 plant installation
  • High-temperature hot water plant modifications and extension
  • Water treatment plant modifications and extension
  • Expanded biological treatment system (effluent treatment plant)
  • New 10 000m2 warehouse facility
  • Infrastructure modifications to various storage facilities, waste handling areas, car park and gatehouses
