The Donkin coal project is an underground mine located on the north-eastern tip of Cape-Breton, Nova Scotia. With an estimated mine life of more than 30 years, the project is anticipated to produce 3.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of run-of-mine (ROM) coal and 2.75Mt of saleable coal.
Donkin awarded DRA Global the EPC contract for the coal plant and infrastructure.
DRA’s Scope was for the turnkey delivery of a 500 TPH coal preparation plant and material handling including raw coal reclaim, direct ship system, dense medium cyclone / spiral processing plant, clean coal, and refuse handling systems.
