The initial stage of the project involved the engineering design of a ‘greenfields’ 120,000 tpa rare earths concentrator and associated infrastructure. This stage was completed in 2011, and included the following unit process:

• Ore Reclaim and Handling system
• Ball Milling;
• Flotation;
• Concentrate Thickening;
• Concentrate Filtering;
• Concentrate Bagging System;
• Tailings Thickening and Disposal;
• Reagents; and
• Plant Services

A subsequent plant upgrade was carried out in 2012 to increase plant throughput to 240,000 tpa, and involved expansion of the following unit process:

• Flotation;
• Concentrate Thickening;
• Concentrate Filtering;
• Tailings Thickening and Disposal;
• Reagents; and
• Plant Services
