Concentrator Plant, associated Infrastructure and Waste Water Treatment Plants

Pre-feasibility and feasibility studies

The Two Rivers Project was a joint venture between African Rainbow Minerals and Impala Platinum, who invested USD 200 million in a 220,000-ozpa platinum-group metals mine, breaking ground as one of the biggest projects ever undertaken by DRA.

DRA was appointed as the managing contractor for the Two Rivers Project on the Eastern Platinum Limb, near Lydenburg, after completing the pre-feasibility and feasibility studies. DRA was directly responsible for the 225,000-tpm concentrator and all related surface infrastructure.

The mine is located in an environmentally sensitive area, and special attention was paid during the design of the plant layout to design a compact and efficient plant which would have minimal impact on the landscape.

Waste Water Treatment Plants

DRA Water was contracted by Two Rivers Platinum to provide for the supply of one (1) off new Sequence batch reactor (SBR) plant, one (1) off upgrading of existing plant to a SBR system and modification to two (2) of their existing plants to allow for removal of sludge, improved aeration and improved disinfection dosing.
